Israeli Foreign Ministry Questions Veracity of Genocide, Says Proof Needed - Asbarez Online, 19 Febuary 2002

The Present Israeli Government has chosen to actively deny the Armenian Genocide as a way of appeasing its Middle East neighbor Turkey.

It is becoming second only to Turkey in its denial of the Armenian Genocide, and this policy is all the more disturbing considering that many Israeli citizens know first hand the trauma attached to genocide and its denial.

"Israel recognizes the
tragedy of the Armenians
and the plight of the
Armenian people.
Nevertheless, the events
 cannot be compared
to genocide""
Israeli Foreign Ministry

This policy is not shared by the wider Israeli and Jewish Community, and many Jews have gone on record to recognise the Armenian Genocide. In fact much of the research conducted into the Armenian genocide has come out of Jewish studies programs that look at the Holocaust and other genocide.

Take action now, by clicking on the above button to send an e-mail to Shimon Perez call on the Israeli government to end its policy of Armenian genocide denial
